The new Cayman S Porsche will again put on it a couple of shovels. 2014 Ford S MAX Concept

At the IAA, the Ford S-MAX Concept makes its world premiere and gives an outlook on the next generation of the S-MAX.

The S-MAX, Ford has a "Sports Activity Vehicle" in the program, which combines the benefits of an MPV with the sporting attributes of a sedan. Ford will show at the IAA with the S-MAX Concept, as the second generation of sports vans could look like.

Compared to the current model, the new S-MAX looks even sportier, especially the rear end is designed particularly dynamic here. But the front end of the new and more advanced design fits the Ford van excellent. The new "Organic LED" technology also offers new possibilities in terms of design and positioning of the light units.

Despite all the sportiness of the new S-MAX is designed to provide more space, up to seven individuals to be able to share the spacious interior. A new and very large glass roof is intended to make the interior even more airy.

Americas SUV/crossover market grew 19% in January 2015, a 63,000-unit improvement compared with January 2014.

For the fifth consecutive month, the Honda CR-V was Americas top-selling utility vehicle. The CR-V outsold the second-ranked Ford Escape by 3157 units. The third-ranked Toyota RAV4, the last utility vehicle to outsell the CR-V on a monthly basis, was just 230 sales back of the Escape.

U.S. sales of SUVs and crossovers expanded more rapidly than the overall market (+14%) in January but not quite as fast as the growth experienced in the pickup truck sector (+22%). 

Only a handful of moderately high-volume SUVs and crossovers posted year-over-year decreases: the Ford Edge, Dodge Durango, Buick Enclave, Cadillac SRX, and Hyundai Tucson, none of which sold half as often as the top-selling CR-V.

There were no new entrants in the utility vehicle arena in January, although the Volvo V60 Cross Country (which we label as a car) attracted its first 28 buyers. The Chevrolet Trax was in its second month on the U.S. market. It ranked 50th overall with 1839 sales, just behind the Mercedes-Benz GLA; just ahead of the Lexus GX460. 

The Trax, together with a number of premium brand utility vehicles which werent on sale at this time a year ago, accounted for 2.6% of all SUV and crossover sales in America in January.

Rather than listing the 500L with the Mini Paceman and Countryman in these SUV/crossover rankings, its with cars in large part because it is not available with all-wheel-drive. The placement of numerous crossovers often prompts disagreement, but consider the vehicle types name: crossover. By its very definition, it crosses over from one category into another. The very act of calling, for example, the Toyota Venza a car or a utility vehicle requires ignorance of the fact that the Venza (or Outback, Crosstour, Encore, Countryman, 500L) is a square peg that cant be squeezed through a round hole.

2012 Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S

Vauxhall’s already powerful VXR8 sedan has gotten rave reviews for providing tons of power at an affordable price but now the company has decided to take things to the next level by introducing the VXR8 Bathurst S Edition.
The special edition is outfitted with a Walkinshaw Performance 122 Supercharger that cranks up the standard car’s 431 horsepower to an earth shattering 560 horsepower. Horsepower isn’t the only big change as the new supercharger also increases the LS3 V8 engine’s torque output from 550Nm to a diesel-like 715Nm. Vauxhall insists that they could have gotten even more power out of the supercharger but for drivability and durability reasons, the company decided against it.
As part of the supercharger package Vauxhall added a large capacity intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, a separate cold air intake and Walkinshaw-developed ECU map. They also had to modify the transmission in order to handle the increased engine output by adding a high-torque capacity clutch.

 Vauxhall models, usually released as Opel outside of the U.K., very rarely find themselves onto the pages of RSportsCars. The Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S is not like other Vauxhall models, though. The VXR8 Bathurst dispenses with 560 horsepower by way of a supercharged LS3 V8, and puts that power to the road through a composed and stylish sedan chassis.

The VXR8 Bathurst looks decidedly non-British, with its strange hybrid styling of the large Pontiac G8 GXP, a Ford Fusion or Australian-market Falcon, and perhaps some Holden Commodore thrown in for good measure.

Makes sense; the VXR8 is loosely based from both the Holden and G8 models, featuring the GM-sourced LS3 V8 found in both models. Unlike the G8 GXP, though, the 2010 VXR8 Bathurst S features a true manual 6 speed transmission.

Some may find the VXR8 Bathursts styling a bit overblown, what with its EVO-esque front end and big side air inlets. Those who appreciate the heft of the cars blower, though, should like these features just fine.

2013 Porsche Boxster S

These illustrations provide the clearest picture yet of the totally updated 2013 Porsche Boxster S, which is set to go on sale this spring. As we’ve seen in previous spy photos, the exterior is sharper than before, with stronger lines and fewer curves. The side air intakes are larger and more pronounced on this new model.

Porsche has moved the side mirrors from the A-pillars to the doors, and added a crease to the rear fenders. The front air intakes are also bigger and more aggressive, as clearly shown in these illustrations of a bright red Boxster S.

The standard 2013 Boxster gets a 2.7-liter flat-6 to replace the previous 2.9-liter unit, with output rising from 255 to 261 horsepower. Output on the 3.4-liter six in the Boxster S is nudged slightly from 310 to 311 hp. Porsche says the standard Boxster will accelerate from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, while the Boxster S will perform the same function in 4.7 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono package provides even better performance and driving dynamics.

A start-stop system and other tweaks also mean the engines will deliver up to 15 percent better fuel economy.

The 2013 Boxster gets new sheet metal, a new power-operated top that stows neatly behind the seats and a revised cockpit with more space for driver and passenger.
The chassis has been redesigned, and the car features lower weight, a longer wheelbase, wider track and larger wheels, as well as a new electromechanical power steering system.

This smaller and lighter 4-cylinder should reduce overall curb weight, and give the already dynamically brilliant Boxster even better handling. As an added bonus, the 4-cylinder is also likely to drink less fuel than the outgoing sixes. A 2011 Boxster in standard trim currently offers EPA figures of 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway. Porsche will also upgrade the 2-seat cockpit with higher quality materials.

Lotus introduced a special edition, Evora S to commemorate the legendary British Roker, Farrokh Bulsara, or better known as Freddie Mercury in London. Lotus deliberately chose September 5, because it coincided with the birth date of Queen bands frontman, who should now aged 65 years. Freddie died 24 November 1991 because of AIDS.

Evora S is offered in a special white color cast with three lines across the middle of the body is colored red-yellow-red, according to Freddie pride costumes used during a gig. Interior, the entire surface was black with a touch of yellow lines in some parts, as well dress like one man with a mustache who is identical with it.

"We wanted something special to get funding for institutions (humanitarian) Mercury Phoenix Trust. Hence we expect, the unit could fall into the hands of collectors who really like it," said Gino.
