2009 Cadillac Converj Concept

CADILLAC CONVERJ CONCEPT

The Cadillac Converj was designed as a touring coupe with high quality fittings, striking design and comprehensive interactive technology.

The four-passenger Converj study aims to show how GMs revolutionary electric propulsion - called Voltec - a luxury coupe with a typically Cadillac "no-compromise" design can provide you with force. The technology allows trips of up to 64 km above the electric drive, during which consumes no fuel and no emissions are generated. The extended range is several hundred kilometers.

Cadillac Extended-Range Electric Vehicle Concept (E-REV, electric vehicle, with additional coverage) has a new body, which promotes the traditional design theme of the brand, "Art and Science" is. An aggressive, forward bent arc profile is the basis of the sporty appearance. The Converj is only in form but not a Cadillac, but also in substance: The high-quality materials, technology and driving dynamics are characteristic of the brand.

The Voltec electric propulsion system of the Cadillac Converj is composed of a T-shaped battery with 16 kWh, an electric drive unit and a four-cylinder engine generator together. Electricity is the main energy source of the vehicle. The battery pack with a cooling system contains more than 220 lithium-ion cells that provide the power to the Converj electrically up to 64 km to drive, without consuming fuel or emit fumes. The battery is integrated into the chassis of the Converjs and stores electrical energy from the grid, while the vehicle is connected to an outlet. Less than three hours are required to charge the battery to recharge at 240V, or about eight hours on 120V power outlets.
