Lotus introduced a special edition, Evora S to commemorate the legendary British Roker, Farrokh Bulsara, or better known as Freddie Mercury in London. Lotus deliberately chose September 5, because it coincided with the birth date of Queen bands frontman, who should now aged 65 years. Freddie died 24 November 1991 because of AIDS.

Evora S is offered in a special white color cast with three lines across the middle of the body is colored red-yellow-red, according to Freddie pride costumes used during a gig. Interior, the entire surface was black with a touch of yellow lines in some parts, as well dress like one man with a mustache who is identical with it.

Not to forget, Freddie signature crown logo on the dashboard and behind the two front seats complete the Evoras this special touch. For features, this special issue is tantamount to the original version. According to Gino Rosato, Director of Corporate Operations, Lotus special edition was produced in very limited amount.

Lotus Evora S Freddie Mercury Edition will be auctioned at the Savoy Hotel, London, England, and each unit sold, the funds are directly donated to the institution Mercury Phoenix Trust to help people living with HIV AIDS.

"We wanted something special to get funding for institutions (humanitarian) Mercury Phoenix Trust. Hence we expect, the unit could fall into the hands of collectors who really like it," said Gino.

2012 Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid

Spread the word, Lotus has not lost his touch. The manufacturer whose motto is "light is right" continues to innovate by offering alternative solutions for sports tomorrow.

After an ethanol engine in the Exige and a sound system of electric cars, Britain Evora offers this year with three motors to move. 




The cut embarks indeed placed two electric motors on each rear wheel and developing 207 hp and 500 Nm each. Powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion Polymer of kWH 17 can be recharged on making conventional and offering a range of 50 km, these engines will be supported additionally by a heat engine.

This block 1.2 of 47 hp will be limited to the role of extension of autonomy and will therefore work to recharge the battery when needed. Thus the total autonomy of the Evora will be increased to 480 km with a total output of 414 hp.


In addition, the use of two electric motors on the rear wheels will ensure a distribution of torque vector, as proposed by other sports cars like the Audi S4 .

For the immersion of the driver is complete, Lotus has obviously planned his sound system featuring four artificial sounds to choose from, including that of a V6 or V12.


A gearbox "artificial" (electric motors with no box but a speed reducer) with paddle shifters will be offered, allowing the driver to act on the engine torque as downshifting on a thermal.

The Lotus Evora 414E will remain for the time that a study be rational but its innovations will surely find on an upcoming production model.
