INSIDE THE AUTO BUSINESS
Continuing with the Volvo theme, Volvos U.S. profits fell 7% in 2014. We’re no strangers to Volvo’s dangerously poor results in North America - and the responsibility of the new XC90 to succeed - but globally, Volvo is reporting record profits, reports Automotive News.

INSIDE THE CANADIAN AUTO BUSINESS
It appears that 2015 could be a healthy year for the automotive industry in Canada. Beginning with Ford adding 400 jobs in Oakville, ON, to build the new Edge, The Globe & Mail provides readers with the 2014 and 2015 good news stories for this Canadian industry. "Mandates given to Canadian plants to produce vehicles for global markets – such as the Edge and its Lincoln cousin, the MKX – are victories in the race for auto investment because they prolong the lives of factories for eight to 10 years."

"But the CR-V didn’t stop with the Civic. In each of 2014’s final three months, the CR-V also outsold the Accord, America’s second-best-selling car."                                        

RECALL
General Motors recalled 58,698 2013-2015 Cadillac ATSs for a visibility issue. FCA recalled 25,734 2015 Chrysler 200s for a transmission problem. Kia recalled 12,361 brand new 2016 Sorentos for an accelerator pedal issue. Another GM recall invlved 1177 MY2014 Chevrolet Impalas for a brake pad problem.

How to Detect Shockbreker Conditions For Car

The EPA has revised fuel economy testing procedures to enable automakers to more accurately calculate fuel economy ratings. Automotive News spoke to the director of the EPA’s Office of Transportation Air Quality to provide more details. "The changes will help ensure the accuracy of fuel economy labels, and clarify how the EPA expects the tests to be done."

DEEPER INSIDE THE AUTO BUSINESS
After a period of reputation damaging incidents, Honda is shaking things up by replacing their Chief Executive Officer with a well-rounded engineer who has been with Honda since the year I was born. Reuters notes that "Hachigos appointment marks the first time Honda has named as CEO a non-director and someone who has not headed the firms R&D company.Will this change inspire renewed confidence in Honda?

RECALL
Status unchanged. Nothing since yesterday’s notice from Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz recalls of 209,017 vehicles.
